an approach to food and climate justice
The project proposal began as
an investigation into the separation of West
Oakland from Downtown Oakland and
developing a solution that seeks to create a
holistic environment of both communities. The
site mainly consists of Orthogonal pavilionlike
buildings are arranged on the site like an
archipelago which creates an urban form that
relatesasmuch to the surrounding buildings.
The
project involved creating an intercontinental
food complex to bring people together from
diverse cultural backgrounds to have a diverse
range of experiences with culture and food.
The site strategy adopted sought to foster a
unique experience by creating a connection
between indoor and outdoor spaces while
providing a seamless transition from space to
space on the site.
